About KASEZ

Kandla Special Economic Zone (KASEZ) is Asia’s first and India’s largest Export Processing Zone (earlier), established in 1965 in Kutch District of Gujarat, near Deendayal Port (earlier Kandla Port). It was later upgraded to a Special Economic Zone in November, 2000.

KASEZ was set up primarily to promote exports, attract Foreign Investment, generate employment, and support the growth of Kandla Port. It spans approximately 1000 acres, making it the largest multiproduct SEZ in India with over 300 operational units. The location of the KASEZ offers direct access to international trade routes due to its proximity to two major ports – Deendayal Port & Adani Port, Mundra. It supports a range of Industries including Textiles, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering goods, Plastic, Cosmetics, Chemicals & Warehouses.

The Key Benefits for Business in KASEZ includes:

• Customs Duty & Tax exemptions
• Simplified regulatory procedures and 24 x 7 Customs Clearance
• State of the art infrastructure with warehousing, Banking, Postal Services etc.
• Ready access to utilities like water, electricity etc with dedicated support services

KASEZ continues to play a vital role in India’s export led industrial growth, acting as a model for subsequent SEZ development across the country.
